Good Intentions eBook Aya Walksfar
I enjoyed the writing style used for this novel. It was brilliant to write in the first person from many different points of view. I felt as though I knew and understood each character. Missing pieces of their personal stories were slowly filled in as the plot moved along. There were mysteries, because the reader knows there are things yet to be revealed. Too, it's a coming-of-age story in many ways; a young woman discovers the truth about herself and about her family and comes to realize that the people who love her are her true family whether or not they share her blood.I don't want to spoil the plot for others, so I will just say I agree that love is love is love. Humans should love and support each other no matter what and no matter who we choose to love.
This was a great read by a talented author. Kudos to Aya Walksfar!

Good Intentions eBook Aya Walksfar Reviews
A book that opens with a friend, trying to help a sexual assault survivor is one that will grip you if well written. Lucky for readers, this one is "A sludge as thick as molasses on a cold day filled my head and slowed my mind" is an example of evocation description that draws you into the aftermath of crime for those who watch loved ones struggle with recovery.
Love, loss, family and secrets a complex tale for complex characters. Don't want to say too much more to avoid spoilers!
I look forward to more books by this author.
Wow, just wow! I'm almost speechless, but honestly, I generally can find some worthy words. Seldom have I read a book with characters so richly developed, evolved and three dimensional....as well as intertwined in some manner. This family drama, filled with secrets at every turn is also loaded with a lot of insights and surprising friendships. The story is told from each person's unique and individual perspective and gives deep meaning to things we often take for granted. Families and relationships can be very complex and Aya has portrayed all of the characters beautifully. By the time I was halfway through the book, I literally felt as though I knew each one individually and personally. Loved this book, one of the best I've read this year!
I thoroughy enjoyed Bev's journey through this story. Bit of a tear jerker at times, but well worth the time.
I only read a few chapters and lost interest
This carefully crafted story outlines a history of secrets, untold truths and self discovery. Wonderful character development and gripping story.
Sometimes we all, as lesbians, need a shot of courage. In a time when one entire slate of a country's political party candidates and many of the world's religious leaders are against your rights to marry, your right to love, and your rights to live as a lesbian, courage needed. Anya Walksfar (as her name wistfully suggests) describes with unflinching clarity the fears, the angst, and the realities of being different. She also reminds us of the "good intentions" of others who do not understand our lifestyle, but still can love us. But most poignant is her reminder that love, in any form, " ... grows best in the sunshine ... . Let us all have the courage to learn the lessons. Wonderful book!
Great book, Ms Walksfar has a way of story telling that sucks you in from the very beginning, her characters are people you feel for, people who you want to the best for. Some people I know have the habit of criticizing me when I show emotions over characters from stories that move me, telling me their not real, well hello if they can show emotions while watching the damn Hallmark channel, then I should be allowed my own feelings to come over me when I'm engrossed in my books. This book is like that, it grips you, it makes you angry, it makes you cry and it makes you laugh. Good job Ms Walksfar keep them coming.
